Measure the finished size you want to receive.

You enter the size of the finished protector - exactly the size you want to receive. We work out the production allowance; you add nothing. Below you will find a guide for every shape, a printable 1:1 radius gauge and what to do with an unusual shape.

The basic rule

You enter the finished size. Do not add anything.

Measure the area you want to protect and write down exactly the size you want to receive from us. We take care of the production allowance.

You measure the finished size

Write down the size you want to receive - 160 × 90 cm, for example. That is the size of the finished protector, not of an area with something added.

Why not to add a compensation of your own

If you add an allowance yourself, the protector may come out larger or smaller than you need. We work out the production allowance from the shape and sizes you confirm.

How to measure your shape

Pick the shape that matches your surface. Every shape has a simple diagram, a written guide and a gauge to download. The diagrams are illustrative sketches - you enter your exact sizes in Studio.

Rectangle

Measure the width and the depth of the area. If opposite sides differ slightly, use the larger of the two measurements.

Square

Measure one side - both are the same. We recommend measuring and comparing both sides; if they differ, it is a rectangle after all.

Circle

Measure the diameter through the centre in two directions, or the radius from the centre to the edge. The printable gauge below helps with an exact radius.

Rounded rectangle

Measure the width and the depth as for a rectangle, plus the corner radius. The 1:1 gauge below gives you the most accurate reading of the radius.

Capsule (stadium) shape

Measure the overall length and width. We work out the curve at both ends as half the width, so there is no need to enter it separately.

Better to ask than to guess. Send us a photo and approximate sizes and we will suggest the safest way to measure your particular surface. Business and larger orders work the same way.

An exact radius

Printable 1:1 radius gauge

For an exact corner radius, use the gauge printed at actual size. Hold it against the corner of the surface and read off the value. Always check that the print came out at 100 % scale before measuring.

Checking the printed gauge

For the gauge to measure correctly, the print has to be at actual size. Check it like this:

  1. Print the PDF at scale 100 % - turn off “Fit to page” in the print dialog.
  2. Place a ruler against the check square - it must measure exactly 50 × 50 mm.
  3. If it doesn't match, change the print settings and print again. Do not copy a reduced page.
  4. Only then place the gauge against the corner of the surface and read off the radius.
