A made-to-measure protector can separate your shelf or sideboard from everyday watering drips. Wipe up water as soon as you can, and always stand the pot in a suitable saucer. We make it from flexible 2 mm PVC, in the shape and finished sizes you confirm. Proteluna Clear leaves the shelf surface visible; Proteluna Design adds a curated motif. Before you order, you check the shape, the finished size and the print placement on a technical drawing, and we add product photos alongside it.

What happens here every day
Three situations a protector is made for.
Watering
Drips run down the side of the pot and over the rim of the saucer. The protector sits between them and the shelf surface. Wipe up water as soon as you can; the protector does not hold it or drain it away.
Turning and moving pots
You turn plants towards the light and move them from time to time. Ceramic and concrete pots have a rough base. Lift them rather than dragging them across the protector, and put a saucer or a mat under the larger ones.
Repotting and fallen leaves
Repotting drops compost, leaves and bits of greenery. You can wipe the flat surface with a soft damp cloth. Do not use abrasive sponges or sharp scrapers.

The limits we tell you before you order.
A surface protector is a practical product. We would rather tell you what it does not do than have you find out at home.
It is not a watertight tray
The protector is a flat piece with no raised edge. It does not hold water that overflows from the pot, and it does not stop that water running over the edge onto the surface below.
Moisture must not stay trapped under the protector
Water that gets between the shelf and the protector can stay there. Lift the pots from time to time, take the protector off and let both surfaces dry.
We make no long-term moisture-resistance claim
We do not claim that the surface under the protector is permanently safe from moisture. The protector separates the surface from everyday contact; it does not replace looking after your furniture.
Lacquer and wood behave differently
Lacquered, oiled and veneered shelves behave differently. The surface type does not change the price or the production. If you are not sure, contact us before you order.
A shelf by the window
Sunlight, heat, cleaning products and the way you use it all affect the appearance of the flexible material. We do not give lifetime figures - we have nothing to back them up with.
We make both Clear and Design for all the surface types listed. The surface type does not change the thickness or the price. If you are in doubt, do not carry on guessing - get in touch.
Shape and measuring
Measure the surface first, then pick the shape.
You enter the finished size you want to receive. For a circle you measure the diameter; for a rounded rectangle, the corner radius as well. Do not add anything to it or take anything off.

Will the protector catch water that overflows from the pot?
No. It is a flat piece with no edge - not a saucer and not a tray. Water can run over the edge onto the surface below. Stand the pot in a suitable saucer and wipe up any spills as soon as you can.
Can pots stand on the protector permanently?
They can, but check the area underneath them regularly. Lift the pot, take the protector off and let the shelf dry. Moisture trapped between the shelf and the protector can damage furniture.
How do I measure a shelf recessed between two side panels?
Measure the finished size you want to receive, taking it at the narrowest point. Do not add anything to it or take anything off. You then check the shape, the finished size and the print placement on the technical drawing.
Is the protector suitable for a lacquered shelf?
It depends on the particular surface. We make both finishes for all surface types. If you are not sure, contact us before you order - do not proceed on a guess.
Can I use both Clear and Design?
Yes. We make both Clear and Design for all the surface types listed - you choose directly in Studio.
Should I enter a slightly smaller size?
Enter the finished size you want to receive. Do not add a compensation of your own.
What if I'm not sure about the surface or the corner?
Do not carry on guessing. Use the measuring guide or write to us - we will look at it with you.
Is the preview accurate?
The drawing shows your shape, the finished sizes and, with a print, where the motif sits - that is what you use to check the configuration. The gallery holds product photographs of a finished protector.
